Palm Pre Coming to Verizon

For those of you who have mobile phone contracts with Verizon but don't want to leave your reliable network (and got some reason your not sold on Motorolla's Droid), Palm has done the  honorable thing by introducing Palm's Pre on Big Red's network as Palm Pre Plus.  Why the  "plus" attached to the name you ask/  Well, aesthetically it is stall the same design sans the navigation button below the screen.  Internally the RAM has been doubled which reportedly shows with even snappier performance of Palm's WebOS.

For those of you that wanted the Pre but did not want to leave Verizon's network then you just have to wait until March for the release of the Pre' Plus.  No pricing is currently available.

Uh Oh! Verizon Is Scheming on Scooping Palm Pre From Sprint

In 6 months at the earliest anyway, according to Wired.  It seems that a certain Verizon executive by the name of Lowell McAdam spilled the beans on expected releases of Palm's Pre and Blackberry's Storm 2. It seems that Palm Pre's buzz is at such a high level that the rival telecom companies like AT&T and Verizon can't wait to get their hands on this thing also.  More updates on Pre expanding telecom network availability as it develops.

All Palm Pre Questions Answered

Ok, so I lied, I doubt that there is any all-in-one place that can satisfy the inquisitive [..and sometimes just crude..] nature of most smart-phone enthusiasts.  Gizmodo is still trying to answer many questions that those June 6th-stand-in-line folks have of Palm Pre with their "Palm Pre: The Definitive guide & FAQ".  The guys over Gizmodo did a pretty through overview of the phone's functionalities that the regular smart-phone user would care about like battery life, specs, amount of storage, to "does an perspective buyer have to stand outside on launch day in order to get their hands on one soon" [I'll take a wild guess...].  Pretty comprehensive coverage for you Palm Pre hopefuls out there.

Palm Pre Apps Preview

For those who cant wait to stand online for every extended period s of time in order to be one of the first to own a Palm Pre when it becomes available to the public on June 6 then PalmGoon tries to help you along with a preview of some of the primary functions of the device like Google Maps, web browser, tasks and memo apps.

I also also noticed that there should be a SlingPlayer app available for the Pre around the launch date window. Sweet

Best Buy and Radio Shack Giving Sprint/Palm Pre $100 Rebate As Discount

For those who are not yet aware, Palm Pre's official release date is June 6th.  The other important piece of information that has been released in recent days is the $199 price tag for new Sprint plan contracts after $100 mail in rebate.  Which means when you show up to a Sprint store [or probably coming out] on June 6th, you will initially pay $299 with new Sprint contract. Then go through mailing the qualifying rebate stuff and.. then... wait....  Kudos to Radio Shack and Best by for doing the right thing and just pricing the phone at the price point that it should be with contract anyway: $199.  Hey! Sprint! Let's get on board here.

Will Palm's Pre Run MS Office 2007 Files?

According to the blog insidesprintnow's "Palm Pre FAQ: Round 2", the Pre will somehow be compatible with with Office 2007.  Or if I should quote the mildly ambiguous way it is stated on the blog: "Office 2007 – Any issues? Nope. Go ahead, tell your boss about it, and bring it to work. Welcome to life with the Pre – it just works!Well does that mean a documents reader or the full robust support of an MS Office SuiteThat would be a good way to appeal to the small business sector.

Palm Pre's In Stock @ Best Buy Stores On June 7th

If BoyGenuisReport's claims are correct, then on June 7th, a little more than a month from now, Best Buy should have appproximately 4500 Palm Pre's ready for pickup.  The pricing structure will be $199 with 2 year contract, $299 if you need an upgrade or (gulp) $999 contract-free.  All of this is still considered speculation so things might change leading up to the supposed launch date.

UPS Shipping Palm Pres from China To The U.S.

everythingPre, has done some digging and found out that there are large shipments being sent to the U.S. by Chi Mei, rumored Palm Pre manufacturers that are based in Taiwan.  Apparently these UPS insiders spilt the beans about big shipments of rumored Pre's coming in from Hong Kong.  Hopefully the rumor is true and Palm can get the machine rolling for this thing.  A release date would be nice to have as well.

AT&T Internal Memo Reveals Talking Points Against Palm Pre

Nervous about Palm Pre's arrival, are we AT&T? Well PreCentral picked up an internal memo AT&T offering talking points as to why the Palm Pre is just not so great. Well, at least not as great as Apple's iPhone, aka "The Jesus Phone".  AT&T's memo makes points against the Pre with statement like palm has an "unproven app store...".

HTC Touch Diamond2: True iPhone Challenger?

Techradar posted a glowing review of the HTC Touch Diamond 2.  This phone comes with a 5 megapixel camera, a super crisp 3.2in TFT LCD touch-sensitive screen displaying 800x480 pixel WVGA resolution.  The star of the review seems to be HTC's TouchFLO 3D interface.  The navigation interface sits on top of Windows Mobile's 6.1 operating system and seems to provide a great intuitive balance that has been the true superiority of this phone's main competitor, Apple's iPhone 3G.

Oh and let's not forget Palm's Silver Bullet, the Pre.
